From the pastel signs of Ed Ruscha, to David Hockney’s infamous swimming pool, to the hypnotizing light of James Turrell, Los Angeles has a long history of playing host to some of the most prolific creators in contemporary art. Today, the city has reemerged as the cultural epicenter for a whole new breed of creatives across the worlds of art, film, fashion and cuisine.

So we asked ourselves, what if we could get all of them together in one place, foster a collaboration between the city’s emerging visual talent alongside one of the best chefs in the world and create an experience that transcends art itself? And that’s how ARTXFOOD was born.

Coming to LA this May, our inaugural event is an immersive series of communal meals fusing the worlds of art and cuisine. Attendees will get the opportunity to engage in a four-course culinary experience from chef Richard Blais while inside an immersive installation by artist Greg Ito.

And while we certainly want things to be inclusive, we’re also trying to keep things intimate, with 56 seats offered at two seatings each night. That way you won’t have to shout to hear your best friends while you’re making some new ones.

Our hope in all of this is to explore what art itself can be, extracting it from the ivory tower and positioning it in a multi-sensory experience located in one of the most culturally stimulating cities in the world. We know LA’s artistic past. Now let’s see what the future holds.
